Cat Smothers Human

Those that know me say that I average 70-100 hours a week. Add in a weekend here or there and I can tally up well over a 100 hours, then again what is a small business owner supposed to do.  Just yesterday in a conference call a client remarked "I task you guys and then it is like, done.  Can't you take a bit longer?" I asked if she meant that we should work slower?  Of course as a joke but all she was really saying was she meant that we turned things around so fast we did not leave things on our end for long.  A pretty nice compliment I must say.

But lets get on with the cat.  So I have this cat and her name is Chole.  Everyone tells me that that should have been spelled Chloe but I guess my dyslexia from childhood won out when naming that kitty.  Chole is one of the critters that I inherited (as payment mind you) from PGSPCA about 4 years ago.  A beautiful black and white long hair girl, loving and sweet, a good companion I must say.  Chole recently has decided to take a stand on the long work hours.  With mews and mews she would protest if I sat in my home office.  Unlike when I paint or become a couch potato, Chole only seems to take issue if I make a move for my home office or laptop on the sofa.  She's not having it.

Late last week I ended up working a bit late.  Chole was pretty unhappy about this and when I came home I slung my shoulder bag on the sofa, plopped down and started to unpack my laptop so I could write a few follow up emails.  The following is a pic by pic of Chole's last stand:

Just as I ploped myself down on the sofa, Chole ploped down on top of me.

Next thing I know her eyes are closed and I am trapped.

Trapped continues, cat sleeps.

When I move she looks at me, she sees me reaching for me shoulder bag.  Er, wait that is just Mommy's iPhone.

Now she stretches out.  I am so very stuck.

Still stuck.

My eyes are getting heavy.

And now Chole turns around, wraps her arms around me, props her head on my face and we nap.

The moral of the story here is that the cat is always right, or maybe it is just that Chole is always right.  This night in question I did not work.  I did not get that laptop out, I simply grabbed my handy iPhone from my pocket and took some handy pics (for evidentiary purposes of course).
