TiVo Series 3: Hold on to your Wallet!

I know I'm not the only Antharian who relies heavily on TiVo to keep up with all the television we can't watch in real-time. TiVo is a great tool that has really become a household item it seems. The only common major complaint a lot of people have had about TiVo as of late has been its inability to record high definition (HD) content.

A while back, some photos of the Tivo Series 3 HD unit surfaced on the net. TV Geeks rejoiced. It was what all of the HD couch warriors had been waiting for. It had a sleeker housing, a nifty LCD-type display on the front of the unit, and of course, support for HD content.

This new HD TiVo was supposed to be released early 2006, it is now September and the TiVo community is still waiting for the much-anticipated HD support. Sources say the release date is approaching fast, and the pricing has been announced (or leaked?). This article has more information on the pricing and all I can say is, "wow." Now this leads me to ask myself, "Do I want a Playstation 3, or a TiVo 3?" I'm leaning towards the Playstation.....
